Death Penalty Meted Out To Iranian Convicted Of Murder And Being An Israeli Spy.

Iran’s judiciary has handed down a death sentence in the case of Majid Jamali Fashi, who was found guilty of killing prominent nuclear scientist Masoud Ali Mohammadi last year, and of acting as a Mossad agent. The trial commenced on August 23 and spanned only one session. In fact, sentencing followed the start of the trial by not even a week. Defense counsel must initiate an appeal within twenty days.

Iran has alleged that Israel and the United States are responsible for the unknown whereabouts of a number of its military personnel and nuclear scientists. In turn, Western nations and Israel believe Iran is cloaking the development of atomic weapons capability by means of civilian nuclear and space programs. Tehran has refuted fervently such claims.
